Discount rate in Ukraine reduced and amounts 15% as from 16 September 2016

On 15 September 2016 the Board of the National Bank of Ukraine passed new regulation №277-рш according to which the discount rate was set at 15% effective from 16 September 2016. Just to remind that previous discount rate amounted 15.5% from 29 July 2016. For reference: as of now same rate in Russia amounts to 10.5%, in US – 0,5%, in EU – 0%.[read more]

In Ukraine the settlement deadline for export and import transactions extended from 90 to 120 days

On 28 July 2016 the Board of the National bank of Ukraine approved resolution No. 361 “On amendments to some NBU regulations”. As a result the settlement deadline for export and import transactions was extended from 90 to 120 days. In particular, resolution of NBU Board No. 342 dated 07 June 2016 was amended. Those amendments became effective from 29 July 2016.[read more]

Copyright infringements for $1 billion: charges on Artem Vaulin

US federal authorities go on fighting copyright infringers. Artem Vaulin, of Ukraine, was charged by US prosecutors, in particular, with criminal copyright  infringements. Vaulin seems the alleged owner of Kickass Torrents being responsible for unlawfully distributing well over $1 billion of copyrighted materials. On 20 July 2016 Vaulin was arrested in Poland. New Law of Ukraine “On the Judicial System and Status of Judges” dated 02 June 2016 №1402-VIII to come into force on 30 September 2016

On the 2nd of June 2016 Ukrainian parliament adopted a new Law of Ukraine “On the Judicial System and Status of Judges” (project of Law 4734 from 30 May 2016) which shall come into force on 30 September 2016. Implementation of counsel-at-law’s monopoly on representation in Ukrainian courts
